Rivendell Bothan

This unique place provided a very comfortable stay in a great location.

Serene, cosy cabin in a perfect location Positive: Cosy cabin in the countryside, serene location with great parking. Feels like it’s out of a movie! You’ll be surprised at how much you can fit in a small cabin - we were pleasantly surprised. Great facilities like cleaning items, dinnerware, toiletries (so gorgeous we went and bought the same from The Highland Soap Company), towels provided, clean bathroom. Strong water pressure. USB charger ports above head in bed. Plug sockets too but need more space underneath as we couldn’t plug anything in. Negative: Was told the day before that wifi wasn’t working which wasn’t great for trying to plan our days but also a blessing in disguise to disconnect from social media. Also meant that any comms from the rental company were received once we had left the countryside. There were some hairs on the underside of the top bunk which were visible from the bottom bunk when you lay down.

Positive: The bothan is out of the way and, although there are a few houses round about you have plenty of privacy. The bothan was very clean and has all the kitchen facilities you need. The beds were very comfortable and the shower room was fine. There is also a good outside space.

A Glorified Garden Shef Positive: The shower and hot water were fantastic. Negative: The heater didn’t work sufficiently and only after I complained did they bring me an additional plug in heater, but the cord wasn’t long enough to plug into the outlet so I had to remove the cushions from the bench and place the heater on the bench in order to reach the outlet. The room was smaller than it appeared in the photos.

Overall as cosy cabin tucked away in the woods. Positive: Inside of the cabin was as expected and shown in photos. Lovely wood walls and decoration. Negative: Outside light was not working which made it difficult to see outside at night. Also pond was very overgrown and did not look the same as in photos. Slightly disappointed as it was not the view we expected.
